So i started to learn 3d coat and i dont really know if this is intended or not

so i started to try out smart materials and i noticed that the smart material preview has got a lot more details/quality than after i paint.
Picture: 9c661ff0ddb3171d9e299a07958b9254.png

The model that i want to retexture is a UV mapped - high poly model with 2048x2048 textures.
I want to make 4k textures for the model basically.

What should i do to get these crisp details for the final texture too?

thanks in advance

The preview window renders at a Higher quality. You would need a 8k map in the smart material to closely match it.

You will be limited by the resolution of the smart material images that are used to make the smart material and your final texture resolution for your image maps. Also is how well you are using the UV space, that is how your uv-islands are filling up the uv space.

I make all-my smart materials at 4K.

Hi all,

I have been trying to solve this issue for a long time now and none of the things that were suggested work.

So what I  do is I change model to surface mode, decimate and export scene. Then open in (Paint UV mapped mesh).

?ui=2&ik=8b20496674&view=fimg&th=164013699d540468&attid=0.1&disp=emb&realattid=ii_jifd0l320_1640115d5567dee7&attbid=ANGjdJ_CbklUqmVpOUhU_4PuZrgPvhuZvgyBv6MUwvpnwavax7LYzIEylE-Y2hEnNT9yKa8XTaGvGkC8B359agxEhve--j89Vx6uFvSbzS-yx3VJG2W4seKja7dAhpw&sz=w1052-h880&ats=1529158864845&rm=164013699d540468&zw&atsh=1

When I paint the smart materials, you can see the difference of preview and what actually it is

?ui=2&ik=8b20496674&view=fimg&th=164013699d540468&attid=0.3&disp=emb&realattid=ii_jifd6cjj1_1640119efe6212a8&attbid=ANGjdJ9L9qWFnveLo9UA4dp0KCepMcAeyNlh8sPakZlTqQg8vXk8GDV6rpkHGvrdqSFWRfbo1mAF2X40nvFJ_KfIuI2ebZgvB3CnMG2ZTkJglGL0ClhH6eL6nXFfHjA&sz=w1124-h968&ats=1529158864845&rm=164013699d540468&zw&atsh=1

When painted

?ui=2&ik=8b20496674&view=fimg&th=164013699d540468&attid=0.2&disp=emb&realattid=ii_jifd74ec2_164011a7ce08c5db&attbid=ANGjdJ_WhiH5oO5zo_-gxtnjjZHnloqCHMeAEkvKpowOfaFgkgaAZ1kM8LYp4l-VmseMx_Wy_z1NNgRJXeHMdG0b3FuAbm2FzDUHHcyh7sX25AwFLfn3o-JEJJr9Oho&sz=w972-h1012&ats=1529158864845&rm=164013699d540468&zw&atsh=1

I tried to resize model, resize texture size etc but it doesn`t work:(
