i had the same error. download the latest directX redist november 2008 pack. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyo...;displayLang=en you can rename is directx_nov2008_redist.exe to .zip and pullout JUN2008_d3dx9_38_x64.cab you can rename that zip as well and pullout d3dx9_38.dll and drop that into your C:\Windows\System32
