  1. Yes it is. Symmetry breaks when you're using those tools. At the end of retopo All you have it is Partial Symmetry ~ 99.5% - 99.8% not the Perfect Symmtery! even if you re-apply symmetry to all layers
  2. Delete one half of the mesh. Mirror through the x-axis and then re-export into 3d-coat. This helps me to solve my issue.
  3. ok. uv piles. I've made this out. So what about uv pins?
  4. 1) Import high-poly as a reference mesh and 2) then import low-poly as a retopo mesh 3) go to the Retopo room. Done. Now you can retopo. 4) UV room as far as I know available only when you import your mesh for the per pixel painting. Also you can merge it, but don't ask me how or what for. I don't know that like you. There are 9 or 10 merging commands. Earlier version of a 3d-coat was much simpler.
  5. Is there in a 3d-coat uv packing method or button that arranges uv islands like the overlapping piles? I mean when uniform uv islands cover each other. For example: left and right hand, foots, forearms etc. I see only three methods: Pack uv, Shuffle pack uv and the Pack2 And what about UV pins? Is there smth like uv pins in a 3d-coat?
  6. Now it's more clear to me about Perfect Symmetry. Thanks Jax. And yes I can't remember that this symmetry problem ever happening to me too when I was working in 3d-coat v3.3.0 But now it is with the foots of my model in v4.0.0.4 even if I`m in the Perfect Symmetry mode. Maybe it is because I'm using already existing retopo mesh which I had done a long time ago. And I should check up model transform axis be the perfectly world orientated again before import and snap it to the reference mesh. Anyway thanks dudes again. I still don't want to believe that it is application fault instead of mine.
  7. yes copy-paste works! thanks AbnRanger! But I would like to know why this happens? I mean asymmetry in the uv-layout. Reset symmetry planes and turn on symmetry back didn't help me with that issue. I've saw Jax_Cavalera wrote something about Perfect Symmetry. Could anybody give the interpretation of his post into good english? sorry but I did understand you Jax incompletely.
  8. 1) foot uv-shells are asymmetrical after uvs unwrap 2) all other uv-shells of the body are symmetrical as you can see 3) the model itself has an absolutely symmetric topology In spite of the fact that foots have an identical uvmark seams, their uv islands are totally different. why?
  9. [CTRL+S] is working fine without error but [CTRL+ALT+S] don't (it's ok only while saving with a new file name) you can try it if you don't believe Ranger. BeatKitano thanks for the answer! hope in 4.0.0.5 it'll be fixed
  10. [CTRL+ALT+S] ... and choose the existing scene = 3d-coat 4.0.0.4b
  11. Ranger if you didn't get the meaning of my post: I didn't call someone stupid I didn't call this option stupid And I believe that it was actually the result of someone requesting it. But why it can't be optional because not everybody like it? OS Windows has the thing called file type associations. So the question was in the jpeg file naming. filename.3b.jpeg instead of filename.jpeg
  12. please make the "no project thumbnails" as option. with TURN ON by default STRONGLY ! I mean by default without jpeg thumbnails What an overmind had made the saving thumbnails as: file.3b.jpeg format? confused :\ why not file.jpeg ? really stupid because if you try to resave the same scene it'll unable to write the file error (
  13. AbnRanger Thanks for detailed answer ! 1) Relax button -> as far as I know relax whole mesh (not only selected edge loop) 2) Brush tool (holding SHIFT) -> Yes it works pretty well on the flat surfaces with large brush radius but otherwise not the same as straighten tool 3) Tranform tool -> Not yet trying this because I have 3d-coat version 3.3 but if it absolutely straighten the edge loop in the version 4.0 it resolves the issue. Sorry but my registration in the Mantis partition was not succesful. I'm gonna make a second attempt. Your help is much appreciated! I'm really fond of 3d-coating
