  1. Randomness, painting into crevasses and spraying little dots are already features in 3dcoat. Gravity is not, but it's application is probably pretty limited. Gravity is available in Painter, but that software is a natural media simulator, not a 3d sculpting and texturing package.
  2. I found if some curves drawn in autoretop it becomes very slow. Same goes for retop room.
  3. New surface brush engine in voxel room is AMAZING! so smooth and fluid! brilliant work
  4. The mesh is being generated constantly, so you couldn't UV map it or apply paint to the vertices. The voxels could store color or shader information, but I doubt this is feasible with current hardware. Currently a voxel just needs to store its position in space, (x,y,z), but adding color per voxel would probably double this memory requirement (r,g,b ) at a bare minimum. And then the marching cubes (or whatever algorithm Andrew is generating the surface mesh with) would need to also take into account this extra data, so that would be slower too. Someday though... and it will be awesome!
  5. I'm loading a voxel sculpt from 3.5, nothing else. I did a fresh install, after deleting old install directory. The surface disappears under the brush first (in large square chunks), then it crashes. *EDIT - I tried just creating a new voxel sphere, same crash... Maybe I need to update drivers or something? *EDIT - yes i did need to update drivers, in particular DirectX. So if anyone else is having this problem, update your DirectX. Like it says during installation. Doh!
  6. Voxel sculpting is crashing immediately on Windows 7, 64bit CUDA.
  7. just testing out the auto-retopo changes, very impressive meshes coming out. couple of things that would be awesome... in the wizard: painting density - mask by occlusion/surface curvature would be very handy here pressing ESC to clear lines for auto-retop also quits wizard... perhaps the tool tip could be changed to END instead of ESC? be able to add/remove points from drawn lines... more tools for drawing auto-retop lines please! similar tools already available in the pen operations like "draw with curves", draw rectangle, draw circles etc smooth all lines is great idea, but breaks any orange lines drawn by dragging outside mesh (straight lines/loops) after mesh is auto-retop symmetrical meshs always need a clean edgeloop along the symmetry axis. currently some faces are split there, some are not. -edit... this seems to be related to symmetry in the retop room, and not caused by the auto-retop And a question... how would an artist know when/if to use the new fill inner hollows function? would it be better if that was automatically run when required, such as before auto-retop?   10. BUILD: v3.3.13, GL64bit OS: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS HARDWARE & DRIVER: Renderer: GeForce Go 7950 GTX/PCI/SSE2 s OpenGL Version: 2.1.2 NVIDIA 173.14.22 3dCoat is ignoring pressure from Wacom Intuos 3. Pressure is working for other programs such as MyPaint. I find sculpting is next to impossible without pressure sensitivity. One of the biggest reasons I bought this program instead of Zbrush and Mudbox was because of it's native linux support, please help me out with this so I can avoid going back to Windows Thanks!
  11. I'd like to be able to have a palette of preset tools, with all settings including pen pressure, draw-type, pen, pen options, color, stencil etc. Thanks, James Macdougall

  15. First, huge fan of the program - amazed at the speed of development and the strength of features. The full-strength first point problem is still there in the linux 64bit tools. i.e. using a wacom to draw a muscle or paint with the airbrush will always make the first point full strength. this really affects the usability of the program.
  16. I'd be very much interested to see a linux version. I work at a studio principally creating vfx creatures, and I like the idea of a voxel to poly to displaced renderman surface workflow. Currently we use Mudbox, prior to that we used Zbrush. Jamie Macdougall ArtifexStudios.com
