Very nice dinos! Did you upload a turntable?
-
Wow, these keep getting better!

Thanks Andrew!
The free-form pose is alot better but the pose tool seems to be broken with liveclay with different geometry densities.
The SurfHide is a really nice addition, but new polys pop out of hiding if liveclay is used with a higher res. It doesn't seem to break anything though.
Marking hard edges in the retopo room would be a very useful feature to go along with the additional support of smoothing group.
Adding a "use as gloss map" mode to the paint room (for voxel, ppp, mv, ptex) would really be useful also.
I was just needing a ghost mode, thanks!

Great character!
I like it. What kind of game are you creating with this?
-
a ".3dcpack" file is just a renamed ".zip" file. I have to add the zip extension to be able to upload to the forum.
Renaming in Win 7 is just like in XP, what error are you getting when you try to remove the ".zip"?
The final file name should be "GC_MP_Depth and VColor.3dcpack"

Very cool!
Is that image also rendered in 3DC? Maybe one day the render room can allow for screen shaders so that bloom, dof, color adjusting and other shaders can be created.
-
By the way, in a second time, I also tried to install the shaders by
dropping them directly in the custon shader folder (wich is may be a bit silly).
No, not silly. That would have been another thing I would have suggested. It's puzzling that the sparkles load but not the picmat.
-
A couple more shaders that may be useful:
- Depth shader
- Vertex Color only shader
Depth shader:
- Adjust the "Depth End" until the far end of the object is white.
- Adjust the "Depth Start" until the near end of the object is black.
- "Depth Shift" slides the depth nearer or further away.
GC_MP_Depth and VColor.3dcpack.zip
Remember to remove the ".zip" before installing extension in 3DC.

This could speed up character creation also. Sculpt a character then click on key points on the sculpt and matching points on a base mesh and retopology is pretty much done.

Yes, a melt/gravity brush would be neat.
i.e. ZBrush:
Gravity: Gravity allows simulation of gravity, wind, magnetism, or other directional effects that 'pull' (or push) at the surface of your model. When gravity is on, your regular sculpting will be modified by a pull in the direction of the gravity. Imagine windblown cloth, or the heavy folds of elephant skin.
Gravity Direction: Determines the direction your sculpting will be pulled in as you work. Click and drag in the arrow box to set the direction.
Gravity Strength: Determines the amount of gravity push or pull as you sculpt. Set to 0 for no gravity effect.

Nice gorilla. I also look forward to seeing him with fur and painted.

Very cool! Nice sculpt and render.
How did you achieve the SSS look?
-
Looks really cool. Nice detail.
-
To add to the list, can the spec map in 3DC be broken up into Spec and Gloss maps as well?
-
+1 for multiple vertex color maps, if possible.

please explain a bit.
Using "rotate around current pick point" and activating sketch tool in the voxel room, when I try to rotate the camera the current pick point (pivot of rotation) is somewhere off the screen which results in unusable navigation. imo the current pick point should be set to the center of the sketch box. I have to switch to "Rotate around world center" for the sketch tool to be usable.
I thought I saw a Mantis bug report on it but I cannot locate it right now.

Thanks Andrew.
Looks like the voxel sketch tool rotation bug is back.

Nice work and expressions. If my brain was in a jar I think I would request at least a double pane or something
My only suggestion would be to add a crack or scratch of some sort to show where the scientist got hit.
-
Very creative! These feel like they are apart of a story book.
-
I do not know much about the supershader other than it was developed by cakeller. It looks like it is apart of his "Synthetic Nature Shaders" here.
-
I love it - love ur works and the shaders are wonderful, can one help me, how can I add shaders? And what u need to do own shaders?
Thanks Monkeybrain!
I uploaded the shaders to the Exchange Library on the forum here.
After you download the 3dcpack file:
You'll need to take the ".zip" off the file to be able to install it through 3D-Coat.To install, go to File -> Install Extension -> then select the .3dcpack file.
One way to create your own:
1. Right-click on a shader in the Shaders palette (i.e. PicMat_Clay_Depth)
2. Click "Construct new shader" and enter a name for the new shader.
3. Click on the texture button to load a new picmat.
A picmat is just a shaded sphere that you can render from a 3D program (i.e. blender, Lightwave, Modo)
ZBrush has some examples here. You can't use them for 3D-Coat but they should give you an idea to create your own.
-
File -> Export also right-click voxel item in VoxTree and Export. Set the reduction to 0 if you want the raw mesh.
Is this what you're looking for?

I could really use this right now, and I'm surprised there is no hide tool for surface/Liveclay.
-
Nice! I look forward to seeing the progress.

You should be able to right click on a shader and select "Select Default Shader".
