  1. I posted the other day about my monitors going black when I opened 3d-COAT. The response was that my ATI 1900XT card was overheating. I tried a few other things, which leads me to believe that is not the case. I run dual 24" monitors set at 1920 X 1080 off a top of the line Intel Mac (I do a lot of video work). I tried setting the resolution to a lower number and 3d-COAT works just fine. It just fails at the top end resolution. I also do a lot of work with Motion and Shake (both are GPU dependent) and my monitors work fine. Could the problem be with the resolution, or the fact that I use two monitors? An Apple Tech told me that he thinks some kind of illegal instruction is being sent from 3d-COAT to my display card which causes the computer to think there is no display card. It is strange that it is only at the top resolution that my monitors go black.
  2. I have an IntelPro Mac and two 24 inch monitors set to 1920 X 1080. When I open 3d-Coat my monitors go to black and it requires restarting the machine to get them back. This does not happen when I set my monitors to a smaller size (say 1600 X 1000). Somehow, it seems a software instruction is sending an illegal command to my monitor card (it's an ATI 1900 XT with 512 MB of VRAM) which causes the monitor card to fail. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I work a lot in video and with Lightwave, and don't have this problem with any other software (except for a pool game that I downloaded - same results). All the latest OS and Software - 8 MB RAM, plenty of HD space.
  3. I am a Mac User. I am a feature editor who likes to throw in some Lightwave. Your program would definitely be very useful to me in my work. There are a lot of editors like me that also do CGI. Sjon Ueckert
