  2. Is it possible to paint in Depth channel with replacing depth information instead of blending? For example, I painted surface with one PBR material. When I paint with another PBR material over same surface I want that new PBR material depth information replaced the old PBR material depth information instead of mixing them. Is it possible?
  3. If your ID map is not too complicated then you can manually fill each ID color with Fill tool (use color tolerance checked). This is a manual process. In case if you want to change ID map then you have to refill all your color areas again.

  6. No problem. I had the same issue after program folder switching from 3D-CoatV4 to 3D-CoatV45 in user\Documents.
  7. I do agree. This is very confusing. 1. RMB moves PBR textures while PBR preview is ON. 2. Turn ON any stencils. RMB starts to move stencil. 3. Turn OFF stencil but PBR preview is still ON. RMB starts to zoom in/out painted object.

I hope this easy to fix bug will be fixed before 4.5 release. http://3d-coat.com/mantis/view.php?id=1863 'Refresh preview' for PBR materials saves new preview image of PBR material with the current viewport lighting instead of default. It means that even same material will look different when it saved under different light condition. I think all PBR preview images have to be saved with one default lighting. All 3d programs show materials in material editor with the same light condition what helps to compare them and see their difference between each other. Do you think there are two different materials below? No. There are two absolutely same materials but right material preview was created with the another environment map and light intensity. How can we compare different materials if we can't compare same material?
  9. PBR materials had been renamed to Smart materials but material reset button is 'PbrReset'. Where is consistency?
  10. Environment map doesn't show up in viewport in Orthographic view. I can see it only in Perspective view. I spent some time to figure out why I cannot see the environment map in viewport. Is it bug or feature? This difference is a bit confusing. Don't you think that 'Greyscale panorama' checkbox would be better to place in panorama selection menu instead of View menu? PS. I hope 3DC 5.0 will get better, intuitive and more organized UI to compare to what we have now. There are too many duplicated buttons in UI right now which do same function but located in the different places of UI. Please make UI changes as a priority for 3DC 5.0 release.
  11. Yes, there are only GL version shadows artifacts. This is hard to say if there are shadows artifacts on standard models but shadow is definitely different in DX and GL 3DC versions. Here is the log.txt file for GL version attached. Log.zip
  12. I am having very different result for shadows in Render room in 3DC GL version to compare with 3DC DX. Here is the realtime render of GL version (please note the shadow artifacts in center part of the object): Here is the DX version.   13. With the latest BETA19 build my 3ds max AppLink stoped to remember Path and Folder paths between 3ds max sessions. Every time I want to use AppLink I have to setup paths again. Is there a way to fix it on my side? Update. It looks like AppLink script needs to be updated. I have updated AppLink script. Here is the file attached with updated AppLink script to work correct with 3D-CoatV45 folder.   14. I do agree. Right now same operations can be done using different menus. This is very complicated and confusing. There are even two 'Customize UI' options - Windows->Customize UI and Edit->Customize UI. This is a nonsense.
  15. Thank you! I was looking this option in Textures->Export and have not found. What I don't like in 3DC is an unorganized UI.
  16. Can someone check in Render room for 3DC GL option 'render with shadows' (No shadows unchecked)? On my computer DX version works fine but GL version creates wrong shadow.
  17. Is there a way to export CavityMask from 3DC as a texture?
  18. Thomas, make sure your computer power settings are not in power save mode and they are in Balanced or High performance mode.
  19. Where should I put texture to paint with? For example, I want to paint a ground texture and use for this task about 10 textures. I need ability to fast switch between them. Do I have to create 10 PBR materials and switch between them during painting? How can I fast modify color, hue or intensity of the texture I paint with?
  20. Has anybody had a chance to make AUTOPO on objects similar to this one? I had no luck to make AUTOPO for this object using any settings. 3DC hangs or creates ugly retopology. My solution was to export hi dense geometry to 3ds max and use ProOptimizer to reduce polygons.
  21. Is there a way to use texture without PBR? PBR takes much time to setup each material, and there is no drag and drop to replace textures in PBR editor.
