Member Magic Man Posted March 26, 2016 Member Report Share Posted March 26, 2016 I'm trying to use the pinch tool in voxel mode, but I'm having some trouble figuring out how to use it properly. I managed to apply the pinch tool successfully to an object, but I'm having harsh transitions after using it (see the red area of my attached image). Is there a way to make the brush transition much more seamless and not so harsh so that it blends in with the rest of the shape?
Contributor Solution Tony Nemo Posted March 26, 2016 Contributor Solution Report Share Posted March 26, 2016 Adjust the "Falloff" at the top of the UI. The default is 0 but 10+% will give a soft transition.
Member Magic Man Posted March 27, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted March 27, 2016 My Falloff setting was 0 so I tried setting it to 50% and even 100% in voxel mode, but I saw no noticeable difference using the pinch tool when compared to before. I then switched my object to surface mode and set my Falloff to 50%. The surface transition is much smoother now as you can see in this attached picture. I'm quite happy with this result, so I'll switch to surface mode from now on whenever I need to use the pinch tool. Thank you.
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted March 27, 2016 Contributor Report Share Posted March 27, 2016 Agreed, it works much better in Surface mode.
