Member Dennis Nikolaidis Posted June 4, 2016 Member Report Share Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) I've been very patient doing retopo for a model for many many hours now. But i reached the point where I have to go around some Π shaped pipes (they are in the greebles models) and this is the point that I'm starting to lose it. Is there a trick to get those retopoed fast? I have a hard time rotating the view under and all around and laying polygons trying to avoid vertices flying all over the place, especially when I have a few of those pipes close together. Its a nightmare. Edited June 4, 2016 by Dennis Nikolaidis
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted June 4, 2016 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted June 4, 2016 If you can isolate those pipes (by hiding other elements) you can run Auto-Retopo on them and it should work a treat. Auto-retopo loves primitive shaped objects, even if it is a spiral cord or other type of elongated tube and such.
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted June 4, 2016 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted June 4, 2016 The STROKES tool works wonders on objects like that, too. And you don't have to isolate the object, either.
