New Member Batool Posted November 29, 2018 New Member Report Share Posted November 29, 2018 Hi I'm pretty new and still getting used to 3D coat so this may be a very simple problem or just me being stupid. I'm importing an obj file into 3D coat with the intention of retopoing it. The model seems to import cleanly but as soon as I try to voxilize it the object gets heavily distorted. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Carlosan
Hello This video demonstrates some issues one may encounter when importing low-poly meshes into 3D Coat's Sculpting workspace..especially in Surface mode...and how to handle them correctly
Carlosan
This video demonstrates a recent Import option in the Sculpt workspace of 3D Coat, to use Flat Subdivision, rather than Catmull Clark Subdivision. It subdivides without smoothing the object. It helps eliminate the need to spend extra time to "prep" a model for normal subdivision, prior to Importing into 3D Coat's High-Poly/Voxel sculpting environment
New Member Batool Posted November 30, 2018 Author New Member Report Share Posted November 30, 2018 Thanks for the help Carlosan I'm thinking that there might be something wrong with the base file and it's throwing 3Dc for a bit of a loop, but the flat subdiv gave me something to work with so I'm happy
