Member Sruli Broocker Posted May 12, 2010 Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 I read an earlier thread about this issue, and tried installing new Wacom drivers, but 3DC still crashes when I try starting it on my Windows XP 32-bit desktop. Any help?
Javis
More info your issue would help. What 3DC version, what Wacom drivers, what video drivers, etc.. Have you tried deleting your 3DC configs and starting 3DC again? Have you tried uninstalling 3DC?

Have you tried deleting your 3DC configs and starting 3DC again? Have you tried uninstalling 3DC? Yeah, I deleted all folders and uninstalled 3dCoat. Interestingly enough, I couldn't find 3dC in my currently installed programs, so I had to uninstall from the 3DC folder in my Program Files. I reinstalled version 3.2, and the icon's on my desktop, but it's still not showing up in my control panel's "currently installed programs." Very strange . . . It never shows up for me, I just uninstall from the Program Files uninstaller in the directory.
Javis
Last time I tried starting it, it said there were serious errors with my NVIDIA Open GL Quadro FX 3700 card. Now what? Erm, did it say drivers, or the hardware? Any more specifics? Tried reinstalling the drivers? What driver version are you using? Because I have problems already with the most recent driver release from nvidia, driver 197.45 released on 13APR10. So I uninstalled and went back one driver version, no issues now. Javis
Also, assuming you're running an older version of the wacom drivers, make sure you have the most recent. It fixed the 3DC crashing issue many were having. But, do bear in mind, that if you're not having any other programs crashing it is likely not the fault of the wacom drivers. When I had this issue, it was causing photoshop CS3, 3DC, Camtasia studio, LW, and many other applications to crash.

My Cintiq doesn't even work with my PC Quadro card, but works fine on my Macbook. Dell's sending me a new Quadro, so I'll see how it goes with a new card, an older driver, and the newest Wacom driver... I won't be able to get to it till next week, but I'll let you know how it goes.
Javis
Ok, great. I hope it works out for you! There is nothing worse, IMHO, than not having access to a workstation.
