Advanced Member splodge Posted May 30, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 30, 2010 Going from Sculpt mode to Paint mode destroys all painting and depth. This only happens if changes to the model are made while in Sculpt mode. Only tested in per pixel painting mode, not tested it with the other painting modes. Taros
Which version? In 3.3.01 CUDA DX, Win7 all works fine. I've tried it with the regular head mesh and one paint layer.
Advanced Member splodge Posted May 31, 2010 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 31, 2010 I've dome some more tests and it appears it only happens if your model has only one layer. So restart 3D Coat, import head for pixel paint, delete layer 1, paint on layer 0, go to Sculpt, Move vertices slightly, go back to Paint and you'll see the painting vanish right before your eyes. Also, models that come from Retopo room with 'Merge patch (per pixel)' have only a single layer. So it's quite easy to be caught out by the bug. Taros
You are right. It is not necessary to delete layer 1 before painting on layer 0 and test it. Yes, all informations disappears after working in sculpt room and came back. I've never seen that, because I always paint on layer 1 and above. This issue have to solved. +
