Advanced Member lc8b105 Posted October 7, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 7, 2010 WebP is a new image format by Google, which offers compression that has shown 39.8% more byte-size efficiency than JPEG for the same quality. I'm just wondering if there is any point for 3D-Coat to support it? http://code.google.com/speed/webp/
Psmith
I'm sure supporting this format would be useful, but, at this time I think Andrew is very busy optimizing 3D-Coat and smashing bugs like crazy. So, if he did decide to make time for this, it will be in the future sometime. Greg Smith
philnolan3d
I've been hearing a lot about WebP lately. It would be great eventually I think but of course it would be useless in 3DC until other software like LightWave, Blender, etc support it. That is, unless Andrew devises a way to use Webp, then automatically save it as a PNG instead of WebP format.
