philnolan3d
In this month's issue of 3D World magazine I have a tutorial covering the basics of sculpting, retopo, UVs, and texturing a game model, in this case an uzi machine gun. 3 videos showing some key points are available on their web site now. The full tutorial in the magazine will be available in the UK (and online) May 6th, in the US it will be on news stands June 2nd. The tutorial includes the full project files, a reference image, and the scratch masks used in it. http://www.3dworldmag.com/2011/05/03/3d-world-143-monster-modelling-and-more/ Edit: Apparently if you have a subscription in the UK, many people are already telling me they've seen it. philnolan3d
I would like to subscribe so I can at least get it in the same month that it comes out in the UK, but it's very expensive. We have to pay for the full year in advance. -- Actually I just noticed they have the "every 3 months" subscription in the US too, I wonder if that's new... Member richdj Posted May 4, 2011 Member Report Share Posted May 4, 2011 Not too expensive here, considering the monthly price. I have it as an Xmas gift. So doesn't cost me. Rich
