Member Nabeel Aejaz Posted May 29, 2011 Member Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 I am using 3DCoat 3.519A SIMP 32bit Win with both DX and GL. Whenever I press Render (even to render both single frame or 360 frames) the rendering process freezes at Rays 320. Esc button doesn't seem to work. I have to force exit 3DCoat with Ctrl+Alt+Del. I have used both DX and GL version, both same issue. I am rendering the default meshes that come with 3DCoat. I have Win 7, 2GB Ram, I am using ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500. Every other software seems to work fine. I suspect I am doing something wrong in my part. Kindly help what am I doing wrong. Thanks.
Applink Developer haikalle Posted May 29, 2011 Applink Developer Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 Hi! And welcome! Could you take a look this mantis report: http://www.3d-coat.com/mantis/view.php?id=183 Is that the same you are having? There is couple tricks what you can try. One is try to keep esc button pressed a little longer time. That usually helps.
Applink Developer haikalle Posted May 29, 2011 Applink Developer Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 Hi! I noticed your reply in mantis. Can you share a screenshot about your render settings. I try to repeat this bug. Thanks.
Member Nabeel Aejaz Posted May 29, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 Hi. I am just using the default settings, I had just installed the software earlier. I suspect it has something to do with win7 or antivirus (I am using Microsoft Security Essentials) or something, as the whole window freezes and I am not able to minimize or close the window even. Applink Developer haikalle Posted May 29, 2011 Applink Developer Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 That's really odd. I added something to mantis report. There is one way how I can crash 3d-coat when rendering, but I can't do it with default settings.
Member Nabeel Aejaz Posted May 30, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted May 30, 2011 The rendering screen shows that Rays increases and goes up to Rays 320 and then it freezes completely for me. What does this Rays: 320 signify?
philnolan3d
In order to render past 320 rays you have to check the 32 bit Rendering box.
Member Nabeel Aejaz Posted May 31, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 Oh yes now I see, it goes on rendering past the 320 Rays ... will have to find a way to stop it.
Member Nabeel Aejaz Posted May 31, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 By changing both default size and "render frame sequence: nothing happened as such to stop rendering as it goes on to render the frames. But by just changing the Render Size, something weird I see, It goes on to render upto Rays 210 (with both 32 but checked and unchecked), then restarts and does this 4-5 times and then exits by itself.
