New Member BrandonLayton Posted October 1, 2011 New Member Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 Newbie coming through! That being said... I am trying to create a turkey. Nothing extremely fancy because it needs to be able to run in-game on an Android phone. I enjoy 3D-Coat so far so I would like to do it with that, but if not I have 3Ds Max. Is there any specific tutorials that would help me in this situation because I have done literally ZERO organic models. I will most likely paint in 3D-coat if I model it in 3Ds max or any other software. Thanks, Brandon
Javis
Hi! Welcome aboard. I'm not sure if there are any turkey specific tutorials, but there are a good number of 3DC tutorials now. For simplicity, I would use voxels. Starting with a sphere primitive, and the move tool to pull areas out like the neck, and from there the head. Likewise for the legs and again perhaps for some tail feathers. Then retopo it. Here are some tutorials that may get you started, and perhaps you could borrow some ideas or tailor them to your needs: http://3d-coat.com/f...?showtopic=7265 http://3d-coat.com/f...?showtopic=8549 vimeo.com/channels/3dctraining vimeo.com/channels/3dcoat That should get you started, I hope! Thank you very much for the reply and for the tips. I am going to sit down and watch all of the videos, haha. Hopefully I can pull this off, considering I have almost absolutely no experience with 3D-coat.
