New Member MichaelDean Posted October 19, 2011 New Member Report Share Posted October 19, 2011 I am having issues with importing a model for autotopo coming in from Max (or ZBrush). When I bring my model in for autotopo, it is basically rotated completely upside down (feet up, pressed against origin). I'm sure there's a setting somewhere, but I am having a bear of a time finding anything on this. Whether I export from Max as an OBJ or an FBX, the model comes in incorrectly. So far, I am unable to completely flip it to the correct orientation. I am using 3DCoat 3.5.19A.
New Member MichaelDean Posted October 19, 2011 Author New Member Report Share Posted October 19, 2011 I found a workaround. If I export from ZB it will always come in upside down, but if I export into Max, re-export the OBJ with ZB settings, and import into 3DCoat, it is oriented properly. You should try the 3ds Max applink http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6692. it works very well. When I go from Zbrush to 3D-Coat or from 3D-Coat to ZBrush, I always use 3ds max as a transit. When you go from Max to Zbrush or ZBrush to Max remember to use GoZ. I find that this is the best way to keep track of scale and rotation, and I don't have to worry too much about OBJ export settings.
