Advanced Member herve_bis Posted January 23, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 Hello... Is there a command in 3D coat to expand the UV seam on a map that I got that badly needs it... (the map is from another app.) Thank you h/
Advanced Member johnnycore Posted January 23, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 What do you mean with expanding the UV seam? Do you mean how to unwrap it? Scaling an UV island?
Advanced Member herve_bis Posted January 23, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 hello... no what I mean is to expand each uv island, but on the map itself just a few pixels.... not touching the UV's... thanks h/
Advanced Member johnnycore Posted January 23, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 As far as I know, there is no such command to scale each island a few pixels. If you really wanna do it you can do it manually.. or in your 3D application of choice..
Advanced Member herve_bis Posted January 23, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 well yes I could do it in Modo, but it looks the border size I define is not taken into account, and so it does it toooo much.. heh Anyway, Thanks h/
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted January 23, 2012 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 well yes I could do it in Modo, but it looks the border size I define is not taken into account, and so it does it toooo much.. heh Anyway, Thanks h/ You can choose EDGES and select the border edges. Then scale them. I don't think there is a command to scale the borders of the islands globally, though.
Advanced Member herve_bis Posted January 23, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 hey thanks for the thought.. well it's a scanned model.. with wayyy too many islands to do do... hehe.. BUT on a note, I loaded the map in 3DCoat, did an export diffuse map, and magically 3D Coat took care of it... (I had set padding to 1) Thanks h/
