Member ChicagoNative Posted February 22, 2012 Member Report Share Posted February 22, 2012 Hello, Can I import a Lightwave .lwo object, make it a voxel object (so I can use the "wrinkle brush", etc, and then export it as an .lwo again? Or, can I just import the .lwo for per pixel painting and use the wrinkle brush in the "Paint" room?
Advanced Member The Candy-floss Kid Posted February 23, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 23, 2012 Hi there CN, to use those brushes i.e surface brushes - you can import the mesh in it's mesh state without converting to voxels at all - switch to surface mode> in the lower toolbar to the left you will see "Merge" , select merge without voxelizing and size the object to your preference - press apply. When done on export set the reduced polycount percentage to zero to keep any hand painted reduction , increases and sculpted modifications - you can crunch your poly export should you wish by setting percentage reductions in the export dialog. As far as I'm aware only .obj is available as an export option. You can also turn your mesh into voxels and bake the surface details created in the voxel sculpt back on to a normal map created for your master polygonal mesh for that concept see here by Javis
