To export from the 3DCoat Learning version (trial mode), you can export models as .obj files with a maximum of 4000 triangles and textures up to 1024x1024 pixels without watermarks. Alternatively, you can save your work-in-progress (.3b files) with up to 10 layers and render watermarks for practice. These limitations allow you to continue learning the software for free after the trial period ends, but exports are restricted for commercial use -

Thanks for confirming @MJonathan! I hope so too! Weird thing for me is, even if I go back a few versions, the problem still persists, which is super odd, as I can not recall it being like this in any prior version before. -

I tried to export the standard 3DCoat female primitive, to try the export which is limited to 40,000 poly count, by the learning version. I tried the Export Scene and the Decimate export options, and the .obj has nothing to do with the original. How should I export files? female2.obj -

Thanks again for the tip! Makes sense that Flat Planes do not work with Voxels. Seemed to me tho that Live smooth uses Surface, judging at least from the layer icon in Sculpt Room. I was referring to what is called in ZBrush "Dynamic Thickness", which lets you temporarily add thickness to a mesh, like the Solidify modifier in Blender. -

Live Smooth is voxelizing the mesh, and voxel does not work with single sided meshes, has to have thickness. Subdividing is just subdiving of polygonal mesh. Dynamic you mean procedural? There is thickness in Retopo room, named Shell. Not sure why it is not in Modeling too. I am having hard time understanding why Modeling is separated and things like this are happening, making more confusion than necessary but ... -

Here is again a demonstration of my problem with painting sculpts. I have used voxel and surface painting extensively in production before. I never had this kind of trouble. Now I can not do that anymore because Flat Shade seems broken for me. I can not recall it simply turning black and having this weird outlines. It is important for me to be able to see raw color when working. I wonder what could be the problem. Here is how it is with painting. Hello, I just downloaded the demo and I'm trying to set up export from blender to 3dcoat on my mac. Currently running blender 4.5 and the latest version of OSX, and I'm getting Permission Error: [errno 13] permission denied. I tried to troubleshoot it myself including running chmod +x to give the necessary permissions, but that didn't work at all, and I'm fairly lost at this point. -

vox tools has an issue , it doesnt respect ignoring back faces so if you smooth while using a any vox tool it just absolutely destroys the mesh, flatten or scrape , there isnt a good flatten tool for 3dcoat , you can never get a good result using them pose tool , smoothing doesnt work as fast or well as it could , can there be a better smoothing or faster smoothing so that using a pose tool does create sharp edges when distorting it plus anything above 2 million polys is becoming a massive performance issue -

in order to replicate you have to move the object of the worlds origin , then nothing else will fix the symmetry other than picking by bounds
