  1. 'Curves' is not working for me (3D-coat 3.5.05B CUDA 64bit) I can draw the curve, and the preview mesh is ok, but when I hit 'enter', nothing happens... 'Apply' has no effect either.
  2. Thanks guys I tried the cloth as you suggested and i'm really happy with the results. It's not as "artistic"as doing it by hand, but gives me a nice start for sure. It's just a matter of doing adjustments now. I think this is the end of this model in 3dcoat, as I don't see myself subdividing it more. I'd rather retopologyse it and continue on zbrush... I also want to share my very first voxel sculpt. I took an old model and started designing the rest of the statue. I apologize for the raw look of it, but I felt quite happy with the results as I wasn't used to the program ( and still I could design the whole aspect of the final piece in a couple of hours.)
  3. Thank everyone! @Taros: I liked the freedom since I started doodling with it. I used it for sketches, it was fun, but as you can see, I'm trying to go further this time. @GED: I extracted the head and hair as sublayers in order to be able to subdivide them a little more and merge them all in the end. I think this will allow me to add more details. Let's see. Heres a little update in between breakfast and work. I made a rough blouse (I wonder if she just woke up and is stretching a bit ) and had the idea of extracting the head and hair as separate pieces as I mentioned. Fixed some volumes and worked on the hands... that's all. Will post something with more work on it next time :p
  4. Thanks a lot guys. @James: Minky is the one! I hope he starts making something on 3Dcoat as well. Thanks for the compliment by the way @ Taros: For the pose you can google "Rhythmic Ball Routine". It's part of their show to be on a similar pose. Any Cirque du Soleil video will have loads of poses on this same manner.. Here is what I made tonight. Not too much. Hair was made using "spike" brush. Regards Fabricio
  5. Thanks guys! Hey James, it was Minky who introduced me to 3D-Coat. I work at DE. Here is a doodle I did yesterday in a couple of hours. It was made in the pose and lacks refinement. No base mesh, as usual (go voxels!)
  6. Thanks bro Here's the wireframe of the gorilla body. 99.9% quads :p
  7. I told you it was fun Now finish something! hah As if I finish mines....
  8. Hi all, I heard about 3D-Coat some months ago, mostly because the guys at work were saying it was a great retopology tool. As a topogun fan, I never tested it but then version 3 came and I decided to try it in a statue I'm working on right now. The hellboy retopology took me one whole evening (I was learning the program after all) and may have some flaws, but I'm extremely happy with it and I don't wanna use anything else from now on... (The Hand of Doom was - badly - sculpted in the existing body using voxels, but after a retopology and some - hundreds - tweaks in XSI it was done. Too bad I don't have the original voxel tool to show you guys. I'm sorry...) And finaly, the very first complete sculpt I did using voxels (besides loads of little sketches here and there). Took me two nights to go through a ball to this stage, and it's pure 3D-Coat, no imported mesh, and sculpted directly into the final pose. I could go further in the subdivision, but I don't want to mess with voxels for detailing right now so I'm gonna make a brand new topology for this big fella and finalize him in Zbrush. I'm happy with the results I had so far and 3D-coat is rapidly becoming part of my workflow, not to mention the smile in my face due to voxel sculpting. I can doodle the entire day and I don't get bored... it's amazing
  9. Humm.. i'll try the presets, thanks.. are they individual for each brush? can I create multiple brushes presets? I'll take a look, thanks.. but still, to be able to have different alphas on each brush is not that big and would be extremely helpful. (to me at least, hah) I know about the "default shader"but still doesn't solve the problem with multiple layers. If you decide to change the shader in the middle of the project (for a different view on the model), it won't change in every layer. This default axis is huge isn't t? ;D
  10. Hi, I've been using 3Dcoat for a while and it's amazing, that's the only word I can find... Here are a couple of features I'd suggest thou: - In the topology mode, I'd like to see something similar to what Topogun has now. The ability of creating patches by minimal use of strokes. 3D-Coat already has the tools for it (when doing circles), it just a matter of using them in a different way. Here is my suggestion in graphical mode: So, the "number of segments" will determine the number of vertices on each stroke and the single stroke crossing the other will act like a loft, unless it's start or end is attatched to an existing vertice... More than one stroke will return the program to its default polygon creation which is determined by the multiple crossing of strokes. - One thing that bugs me is that I have to press a button for "no simmetry". What if pressing AGAIN the symmetry button on each axis would toggle it? That way I can setup, let's say, a shortcut to "simmetry in X" using the X key and when ON, I can simply hit it again and turn OFF the simmetry. That's simple - I'd love to see a "frame object" option in the viewport. With F or A being the shortcut. - In add/split, whats the exactly meaning of the radius? It doesnt appear to affect anything and its kinda distracting... - Maybe a "save brush" option? So I can setup my favorite alphas on each of them and everytime I load the program it would load this settings? At least give us the ability to have unique alphas on each brush. I use clay and build a lot, but each with different alphas.. and it's really boring to change it all the time. - Why everytime I create another layer in the voxtree it changes the material I was using in the model to the default material ? It should use the same material, no? - A "pinch" subfeature on each brush will be highly appreciated... but something that wont decrease the speed as the smooth on the "increase" brush does. - A little axis on the corner of the screen showing the X,Y,Z positive/negative directions will be cool. - Any plans for masks? I'd like to be able to protect some parts of my model while sculpting. I'm sorry if any of these resquests were made already, didn't have time to read the whole forum. I'm loving this program more and more and I'm sure it's an amazing add to any pipeline. It adds so much freedom for character creation..
