  1. Truly excellent. I would love to watch you model. I'm just starting out with 3DCoat and your videos (along with Jarvis') are inspiring. How do you select and cut away parts of the sculpt (it looks like you are drawing your selection). Cheers, Ricky.
  2. Hi everyone, Just a quick 1.5 hour voxel modelling session... I may turn this one into a WIP. I take it the more detailed your voxel model, the better your occlusion and normal maps will be? And the more detailed your normal map, the smaller your base mesh can be (once retopo'd)? Cheers, Ricky.
  3. yep... You will know if it's working alright. I saw such a difference in speed when i installed the latest version and cuda drivers.
  4. Adam, I really like the plane and the gorilla. Excellent. Ricky.
  5. Wow, I've just downloaded the CUDA drivers and the 3DC Cuda version... wow, I can see a noticeable speed difference.
  6. Hi everyone, After trialling the software I went ahead and purchased the full package today, so I thought I would share my first WIP... It's not perfect and the back end isn't textured as I just wanted to look at the 3DCoat to LW workflow. 1. Board and Cheese modelled in LW - gonna sound silly but I couldn't figure out how to quickly do a wedge shape in 3DC! 2. Voxel sculpted 3. Retopo 4. Paint Room (bring in new material) 5. UVs 6. Export as lwo and into LW Ricky.
  7. I seem to have lost all my materials. I downloaded a new image from the web, uploaded it to the materials tab and used it in the paint room. When I reopened 3DCoat there were no materials in the materials list. I've checked the materials directory, they are all there and the options.xml file is pointing at the correct place. Going to give this another go with my home version. Ricky.
  8. Lol, It is a small world. I've just finished doing a small wip (it was only a piece of cheese for a laugh) and that process included voxel, retopo, paint and export to UV and then into LW. It's a good workflow, but there were a few things that tripped me up. Looking forward to your progress. Ricky.
  9. Hi Matt, I'll be watching closely then, as this is the same area I want to use 3DCoat and Lightwave for. Ricky.
  10. Ok, forget previous comment about not being able to find the menu. As always I rushed in and didn't really read the manual. I can now create a auto-retopo mesh from a Voxel sculpt and paint on it. Blimey, this software would have saved me sooooo much time if I'd have used it for character texturing a couple of years ago. Going to see what else I can do this evening. Cheers, Ricky.
  11. To be honest, I think I'm going to purchase it anyway before the 15th. I might email him to ask for a small extension... the only reason being is I seem to be having issues with Painting on Voxel scuplts and no Auto-retopo menus. I'm going to have another detailed look at it tonight, might be something I'm doing wrong. Cheers, Ricky.
  12. Hi Everyone, I'm Ricky from Yorkshire in England. I'm a project developer working for a medium size Sheffield based company. I'm responsible for all marketing from design to print. 2D I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and InDesign. For 3D I use Lightwave for my 3D models, which includes a full set of cgi characters for an interactive children's application. For texturing i've used just LW and PLG UV plugins (and photoshop). I'm looking forward to expanding my skill set, using 3d Coat for all texturing. I would also like to start using 3D Coat for organic scuplting. Cheers, Ricky.
  13. Hi guys, I've recently downloaded 3.5 but it's telling me that I can't have the 30 day trial. Is this because I've downloaded 3.1 before? Cheers, Ricky.
