I would appreciate a fix for this. 3DC is looking clunky and behind the times with this.
It works fine for all people. You doing something wrong. That option fix blurriness and small text you can change in 3d coat settings

Yes if object are separated they will import on own layer. Tick Import w/o voxelization will import in sculpt layer with keeping original topology

You can try to import different format or reexport them in another software, 3dcoat should import them, do not forget to scale them to see in 3dcoat. So you do not need to make it from scratch.
If you want to keep old model topology, you need to work in sculpt layer, if it's not important you can convert to voxel and work with them. Depend of model what you making and your preferences. Voxel have uniform topology, sculpt may have different level of detail but less stable -

Seams noise tool is broken, it is hidden for voxel layer. For surface layer it produce artifacts after hitting enter (and needs double undo operation)
But if convert to voxel layer during noise dialog it apply noise fine to voxels

In my experience it's not effect to speed, more to mesh and angle of brush movement.

I mean they change too much recently what pro software never will do this. For example 3ds max have options to keep old design for dialogs of edit poly tools. And as blender have bonus of free, it is also big minus, because of that blender will never have vray or corona (devs told this about some problems and connections). Though it is nice to see how China gives money to Epics, and Epics gives money for Blender and megascans with twinmotion. =) I hope they will give money to 3d coat too

But you are right, too much bugs, hard to learn features if they works not right, and hard to understand management with bugs, no roadmap etc

I have this weird things and also double undo bug. It was imported 3d model but on new primitive object it's not reproducible

Maybe will help for other users.
I solve this via disabling windows scaling in shortcut preference of 3d coat (needs latest windows 10 build i believe), and increasing font size in 3d coat preference

I don't use HiDPI display, i have 43" 4k monitor what have similar PPI as ordinal HD monitors - i have 104 PPI 0.24 mm size of pixel. I can use it in 100% but as monitor is bigger i can't sit in the same distance as 1080 screens so i sit a bit back and change scaling to 125%. 3ds max, photoshop etc looks sharp, only 3d coat looks blurry except very old programs what do not support scaling. I found 3d coat fonts even at old monitor also not good and sharp

Nope, at all sizes it looks blurry, only at 100% scaling it looks sharp. windows 10 17763

I have similar problem and in driver settings is the same suggesting option. All fonts looks blurry, in windows 125% scaling ui.

Are you sure you set right option for exe file? You need last windows build
