Thanks AbnRanger..... I literally just came across that setting and that fixed it. Cheers...

Sorry, do you mean migrate on the old Mac, then copy that folder to the new Mac.... I thought the migration was only done from within a new build of 3dc, and selecting a previous version....?
-
Not sure if Migration master would work across a network. Does the Mac not need a previous version installed to do this? My Macs are networked while I am transferring over.

I am in the process of moving all my apps to my new Mac Studio, from my Mac Pro. I installed the same version from my MP (2023.17) as the newest version didn't work. BUT the interface is all large text on the Studio for some reason. Same monitors, same resolution, only difference is the Studio is HDMI, the MP is DP. Mac Pro Mac Studio Also is there a folder I can copy over to save setting up all my materials/alphas etc..?

The 'new' LightWave2020 export preset option doesn't seem to work. If I select the output location for the model, the dialog goes in a loop, I enter a name and enter, dialog comes back empty. I need to quit 3D Coat to get rid of the window. Although this is a welcome addition, 3D Coat cannot read LW 2020 to import. My current workflow is to save as an obj in LW and send to 3DC.

As much as I feel for the people in Ukraine and what they are going through, I am receiving a LOT of emails (2 a day) from 'Pilgway' with a link to donate funds. Is anyone else getting these, and is it legitimate, or your typical 'give us your bank details' scam......?

UPDATE: When I select something to migrate, 3D Coat restarts immediately (where normally it would install the data then restart). Migration works fine from V4. However if your a new user with 2021 this is not ideal. Fortunately I had not changed anything within 2021 since my initial migration, so all good, but a pain in the butt to manually install extensions (smart materials from pbr store), one at a time.

Import external model into 3dcoat for modelling, uvmap, painting

That's a whole other forum's topic...... -

As a LightWave user myself, I find it much more intuitive modelling in LW anyway. I just bring the model into 3dc for painting. I don't think 3dc is designed for importing a 3rd party model to be tweaked, as the import button says 'import mesh for retopo'. -

If I open a new modelling room and import mesh, I select the model, it then says click to place. But the floating window will not go away, every time I click mouse it selects import again. -

I have found a LW model doesn't work in modelling room, cannot select anything. But isn't this just for retopologising, as the import describes (not for actually adding details to). If you import your model into the sculpt room, you can do anything to it. -
3D Coat automatically adds AO layer when you select a smart material that needs it.

Are you going to Pilgway website rather than 3DCoat. You shouldn't have issues from Pilgway.
-
That is how 3DCoat 2021 is licensed, by copying license to clipboard and starting app. If your out of trial mode it's done. So you should be good to go.

[Bug] 3DCoat 2021 - How/where to install Presets
MarkC replied to macmonkey's topic in General 3DCoat
I used migration master to import my brushes, presets, smart materials from V4. The 3DC_Brushes is quite extensive, so seemed to take a while, but then 3dc restarted with them added. -
Well, installing horrors \*o*/ with old v4 presets
MarkC replied to Spacecookie's topic in General 3DCoat
After installation, I migrated previous smart materials, brushes etc (categories separately, to avoid any issues). I don't have any purchased materials yet.
