  1. Hi, How to paint luminosity on a texture please. In Layers -> Copy Channel, there's this option. As there's only Depth, Color and Specularity, I wonder the process to realise that. ex : Thanks
  2. Hi there, I've seen the possibility to export "Emissive" from the Texture menu bar (or when you export a model). But how to set up an emissive on a texture and a layer please ? Thanks
  3. Hi There, I used 3DC to UV map a model ( .obj). Then I did export it in Blender. Everything is perfect and it works well. Except, I can't get the seams appear on the mesh. I mean, the mesh is unwrapped in the UV window in Blender. But nothing "drawn" on the mesh. Could someone give an hand about this please ? Thx
  4. HI, I'll give it a try soon. I'm a bit busy on another project. Thx
  5. Hi Haikalle I made some tests. Sometimes it's work and anothers time not. I'm obliged to restart 3DC each time. For my tests, Once I used a simple cube = doesn't work at all Then I used a sphere = Blender ->3DC (I take a subdivision about 8k). So I practice some test with color and depth. Thx Jean
  6. Hi, The bug I reported in this post still occurs: http://www.3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6706&view=findpost&p=58107 I use the official Blender 2.57b release. But I've got the same problem when I paint to create bump Map. Thx
  7. Hello, I've run the new update today : 3.5.13 [beta, not verified] But the bug still happens. Thx
  8. hello, Thx for the quick reply. Effectively, the export -> obj was unchecked. Now, It works !! But it seems to have a little bug in 3DC. I've exported a sphere for "PPPainting"(once the sphere's not been subdivided in 3DC and another one yes). And added some "bump" . So when I use my brush on the object some parts are good and others very bad (see my pics please). I've tested with a sphere directly in 3DC and it works perfectly. Otherwise, when I re-import in Blender, all is fine. Thx
  9. Hi Haikalle Thx for your script. I use a Mac and I've this Blender version : Blender 2.5 (32 bit) [34736] I did follow your tutorial about how to install the script. But when i try to export it doesn't work : please see the Error Message Shall I install a script manually first ? Could you give a hand please. Thx
  10. Hi, 1) Could someone explain the difference between the 3 kinds of "merge' option in retopo menu please. We've got : merge with Ptex, merge MV, merge with NM. I did read the manual. But I can't understand when using one or other. 2) When and what for using "bake texture" Thank
  11. Hi, I've bought this video training yet. '3D Coat 3.5 for Lightwave Users- Normal & Displacment Maps' That's great. But not what I'de like. In this video the low poly objet has been modelled in Lightwave and after Adam brings it backs in 3DC to fine tune the skin details. Then he exports Normal & Displacment Maps in Lightwave and use them as "modifier" on the low poly mesh. In my case. I sculpt an high detailed objet in voxel room. Then : 1) Retopo and uv map it, to get a low poly objet to export. 2) I'de like to get the high detailed shape from the voxel sculpt as Normal & Displacment Maps to export as well. The down side of "merge MV" : that 's subdivide again the retopo mesh !
  12. Hi Michalis, Thanks for the reply, You don't understand "what's wrong" because you're not a "newbie" and some aspects are obvious for you ! That's it ! I'de like to get a bit more details if you don't mind. Am I in "New Users" room or not ? I remind you that you had some difficulties with this as well : http://www.3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7195&view=findpost&p=54705 "Bake for MV only" it's a bit strange for a newbie. As in Retopo menu there's "Bake texture" and not "Bake for MV". So I do understand "Merge" and "baking" are same. I read the manual too : http://www.3d-coat.com/wiki/index.php/5.4_Retopo_Menu_%26_Tool_Bar Then in merge (microvert) you've got 3 options : Merge into scene (microverts),Merge hull (microverts), Merge patch (microverts). I supposed "Bake for MV only" meant the first choice for you (not obvious for me !) Then a window appears (see the pic) : Shall I leave everything as default ? Millions of polygon ? Carcass resolution ? what are they influence ? After in paint room it's ok. I hope you do understand the problem now ! Please make a short video Tuto and you'll get no prob anymore.
  13. Hi Michalis, I've tried your option 2. It works quite well. But keep wanted to do option 1. Thanks
  14. Hi, I've create an objet with some details in voxel sculpting, retopo it and got an UV map. I've exported the low poly mesh (Retopo -> Export). But what I'de like now it's to get all the details back from Hi res as Normal Map or Bump map. Because I don't want to texture in 3DC. I mean I'de like to know the process to use the low poly in blender with the High Poly details as displace map. I tried to do File->Export->Export Model. The menu asks me iF I'de like a lowpoly mesh (I've got one from retopo yet ! but I think it fits for the Painting or Sculpt mode). Then in the same window, I can select NM or Bump Map. But when I use the map in blender it doesn't work. Shall I use Retopo->Merge with NM and hit "bake local occlusion". And after use File->export ? I watched this video but I need the step before : I think I made something wrong in the workflow. Thank
  15. Thanks all for the help. As you said Digman : "Is it fast? no... but possible, yes...". That I wanted to know. I'll give it a try.
  16. Hi, Could someone tell if there's an effective way to retopo hard surface please ? I'd like to make starship in voxel mode and after retopo and export it to another 3D soft. We've seen the great demo about rich primitives on 3DC's main page : So, I was so impressed that I bought some tutorials from Javis Jones to know how making a starship in voxel sculpting : 3D-Coat Video Training:Voxel Sculpting|Hard Surface Compendium http://javisjones.com/products-services/videotraining/ The tutorial is great. But at the end, once the starship built, we try to retopo and realise that it's doesn't really work with hard surfaces because the result is a bit messy ! So, does it mean that voxel sculpting and retopo in 3DC are essentially made for organics shapes ? So if I make a starship in voxel sculpting in 3DC that's great. But I can not use it outside voxel room ? thank
  17. Thank Greg and Alan. I really appreciate. Alan, unfortunately, I don't do that for the moment. But, it's a good idea i guess.
  18. Hi, I'm Jean-Maurice (aka Adivaki), french (Paris). I'm a freelance illustrator and pretty new with 3DC (and 3D in general) as I bought it last week. I was very interested about its intuitive sculpting abilities (among others). I use Blender and Vue 8 complete too. I'd like to master 3DC especially texturing asap. I hope you'll fulfill all your wishes soon with 3DC and beyond. Jean www.jeanmauricedamour.co.uk
  19. Thank both for the reply. Digman : there was a mistake on my screenshot. I did choose a folder and gave a name to my file, hit render butter. And...a file appears inside my folder with the right name but the pic is totally black ! PS : I use a Mac
  20. Hi, I try to render a voxel object but it does not occur. Here my workflow : _I'm in voxel mode, I create a objet. _I active the render panel. _I choose a folder to save the render. _I hit render button (with or without realtime render button checked). _A new window appears with a gradient (dark to light grey) with counter at top left corner (rays : 0 to 320) and nothing else happens. _I press Esc (after a while as there's no counterdown board that informs the running time behind). _I check the render file and all is black. Could someone give me an hand to resolve this please. I'd like to know if it's me or bug. thanks Capture01.tiff Capture02.tiff
