  1. So voxel details can be exported out as displacement maps now? When I quadrangulate I get a loss of detail. Is it possible to bake the voxel detail and use that but not the high poly quadrangualted mesh?
  2. are you able to bake the details you had in voxel like pores and prints and bring it back to painting/sculpting mode. Do we have that feature yet? I've only used 3dc for painting and sculpting. Havn't touched voxel much really.
  3. Thanks akira. andrew should include them in the installation and make one a preset.
  4. When I bought it automatically calculated 80US on my cart since I bought before sept 08. I think it calculates based on the serial number you provide upon purchase. new buyers I believe will pay 200US and no discount maybe for some time.
  5. That should be easy to do for Andrew to make default color scheme like that in the next installer.
  6. I seem to recall having the same difficult in modo when I started at first. The muted gray with similar shades was confusing at first but I got used to it. Phils screen grab of lw shows good contrast but some may complain its too contrasting. Can't win them all.
  7. My paypal email is different from my software license email for security reasons. Is it possible to change later?
  8. http://www.3d-coat.com/buy_now_V3.html I think the words used in the page could be more formal. Maybe someone can improve it.
  9. Yes indeed its big work. So no need to hurry. Maybe offer V3 to existing users would be good. For new users an official release should be stable, with good manual tutorial and samples. Please also make the pricing and features(available at this time) very clear. After the newtek core announcement people were confused and dazed with it.
  10. Does this mean there's an extensive manual for 3dc v3? I think it shouldn't be officially launched till everything is ready. I know zbrush 4 will be out soon and 3dc will need to be ready on all fronts marketting and resources included. bugs is priority but so are all others. Don't do what newtek core did .
  11. Ok, I dont know what it is for. Can anyone explain why I shouldn't touch it even if I never have. Its like the bg layer in ps. I never touch it and do my edits on top layers but what is layer 0 in 3dc.
  12. Soon I hope we see this in 3dc. Quadrangulation for dummies. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=71265
  13. some comments at newtek with how some people were turned off by its interface. http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.ph...ed=1#post886404 "too many icons to remember, all scattered all around the interface borders" and "horrible cluttered icons" so 3dc could be doing well on this part keeping it simple, organized and professional looking.
  14. not yet. but who knows in a few months after the official release. Voxels, displacement, texture painting is 3dc's aim so far.
  15. same post? http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98925
  16. we're requesting the same feature in the main thread two pages back. hope its in the next builds. I think its not that hard to implement. http://www.3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?sho...amp;#entry19310
  17. I tried it now with a few shaders by reducing opacity to make glassy shader. Ref images don't show up behind the voxel. Any other way?
  18. Yes this is very important for accurate models. Again, there must be a way to see the reference image behind the object in viewport. I think its easy to implement in 3dc. I'm trying to model a concept car in 3dc but without the ability to see ref images better, it takes more time in workflow to hide/unhide voxel just to see ref images.
  19. Is that even possilbe with voxel tech? Maybe Andrew could explain this sooner than later if its possible so people will have realistic expectation with 3dc.
  20. yes please improve image reference function and add opacity to make object overlay.
  21. That's why I wondered if the material bg could work like that. But switching to other views or saved camviews would misalign the material bg and also it doesn't remember the material scale in relation to the object. The reference image function in 3dc is ok if its overlayed with opacity control.
  22. many c4d users and hobbyist. interesting.
  23. I haven't tried but doing it per object per shader would be tedious I think than a adjusting the xyz ref image. Lw way of putting ref image in the bg is a good method. I prefer it than max which is how most appz do it similar to 3dc. I always wanted to have the material bg and camera locked in 3dc like lw but it doesn't work that way.
  24. regarding the reference image function. can the images be overlayed on top of the object with opacity control similar to material background. not sure if its already implemented but couldn't find it in voxel tab. makes it much easier to sculpt from reference. reference image plane material background any chance of multiple viewport? no need to toggle views all the time.
