Hello guys,

Do you know how to display the textel density in the viewport ?

I would like for instance to have the textel density multiply by the Grid in the viewport instead of checking it in the UV view.

It would be easier to define the seams.

Cheers,

Pixo

hmmm... how do you do it ?

Which voxel define measurement units are you using ?

And Enable Grid 2D mode is on ?

2048px per 3 meters is my usual scale

I duno if any1 need the link below but...

How to figure out texel density and texture scale

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/70400220/Scale_reference.zip

It contains two PSD files with character reference scale for texture.

First one is for texel density of 256px per 1m.

Second is for texel density of 512px per 1m.

How to use:

Setup in photoshop grid. I recomend major grid lines every 256px with 4 subdivision.

Copy character from desired file into your texture.

Do not scale characters.

Now you can see the scale of details object on texture in comparsion to character.

Characters have about 1.75m.

Now keeping consitent scale across all textures shouldn't be a problem.

It will also make easier to keep consitent texel density across all objects.

Actually we had something good in the UV room's UV preview window.

I'm talking about the color chart (red, grey, blue).I just would like to see it in the viewport to setup my seams.

There's a way to do that ?

Pixo
