Member Sam Posted June 7, 2008 Member Report Share Posted June 7, 2008 Hi all, As 3dCoat could be used to printed on 3d models directly, is there any need to use other uv mapping tools for doing uv mapping? (I also had uv mapper pro) Thanks in advance
Advanced Member rimasson Posted June 7, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 7, 2008 3D coat dosen't have the best unwrap tool around, it's an automatic unwrapping, if the Uvs are distorded, you don't have any tools to relax them, the only solution is to cut your Uvs into more parts. Personnaly, i use Maya and Unfold for unwrapping.
Advanced Member Roger_K Posted June 9, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 9, 2008 IMHO uvlayout is the best unwrapper around, you should seriously check it out www.uvlayout.com
philnolan3d
I actually just got around to trying the PLG UV tools in LightWave and I was amazed at how fast I got finished the 10 UVs for my characters armor.

philnolan3d
I'm not talking about 9.5. PLG is a set of free 3rd party UV tools. http://www.flay.com/GetDetail.cfm?ID=2309
