Hello all,

First of all, let me say that impressed as i was by 3d coat, finding out you can paint in a flattened uv view is..truly a beautiful thing. I was wondering however if it is possible to be able to have the material image/mask be able to be shown as you paint like it is possible in 3d view? It would be a nice feature to have (i'm sure it's possible since everything i've thought of so far by doing a quick search on the help pdf was there :) )

Thanks

For now material is always applied to 3d-view even if you are painting in uv-plane. It can be changed, but need some time to be implemented.

Thanks for your quick reply Andrew, i really appreciate it. Would you consider implementing it someday in the upcoming 3.0 release? I think it would be a step above "fade on edge" function as it would diminish texture stretching while painting (and yes, i know i can apply a basic texture map in photoshop and bring it, but i'm trying to minimize the numbers of time i switch between programs to do what i want ;) )
