pattern holes in mesh

Recommended Posts

Hi,

New here, I love 3dCoat, am completely blown away by it. I was wondering if there was a way to create something like what is mentioned in the video below

I guess if you could cut holes using a texture or paint objects on a mesh in a uniform way and then do a boolean.

Dunoo, I am very curious about this.

If this post is in the wrong place in the forums please move it. Thanks.

Being an animator, I would do this in my renderer (Octane) to avoid the geometry of an actual mesh but there are folks on this forum that may be more informative.

Yes the texturing solution is surely possible, and there are ways to do this on a polygon model in external packages. I just wanted to know if I wanted to duplicate an object of any shape on other object in an uniform way, is there a way to do it inside 3dCoat... But I guess you will need something like uvs for that.
