Normally when you import an object into 3DC, it does not change the axis, Like Y becomes Z.  If the model was created with Z is up, then the model would import incorrectly concerning the axis if Y is up in 3DC.

Got to preferences and change which axis to use for "Up" or swap axis as 3DC calls it.

This will cause your imported scanned model to import in-correctly if you change to Y is up. That is if the software used for scanning uses Z as up.

Maybe you changed the setting and forgot about it.

When I import scanned models (Photoscan) into 3DC, I normally choose Z is up so they import correctly. If I need the scanned model to be oriented on the Y axis (Y is up) then I use an external program for that change, then I import into 3DC.

It is a user call though but I rather get the scanned model lined up and any rotations done in an external program, then I import into 3DC.
