Hi guys!

I am just a few months old in 3DC, this is my first 3D software and I'm learning as I go. I ran into problem in desire to create bass relief, so please help!

This is the first part of the scene. I had great fun sculpting the table and rocks. It was time consuming, took me several days, but it was easy and I enjoyed it.

I need to create a pillar that would stand close to the table above. On that pillar I would like to show 4 scenes as a bass relief similar to this level of detail:

However, as I started I ran into tons of technical details that I can't figure out so it looks awful, like this:

Can someone please share general workflow of making bass relief in 3DC?

1. Best tool to grow shapes to which I can set the growth/depth limit? My first issue is that I set up depth, but once I release the brush stroke, next stroke only adds higher and higher.
2. Best tool to chisel bass relief to the depth limit? Again as above, I go through whole voxel mesh on the other side as I'm trying to take away some voxels. Is there a way to set the limit how deep can you go?
3. Anything else that could help would me much appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance!
Cheers!

I think that I might have found two bugs with the Absolute Tool in Surface Mode;

1st - You set Depth to 50% on Absolute tool and make a drawing of an icon. You can paint as much as you like and it will stay on the same level of extrusion. However, if you increase the radius of the brush and leave depth as it was - it is not on the same level of extrusion anymore.

2nd - If I use Pose tool to extrude some part of the voxel surface and try to apply Absolute with depth 50% - it will add 50% on top of the amount that was extruded by the pose tool, but not limit to the 50% depth. It makes sense that it behaves like so, but in that case what is a workaround to force max extrusion of everything on that surface of bass relief?
