Member Sqwert Posted February 16, 2022 Member Report Share Posted February 16, 2022 There is no point to the auto UV as it rotates shells. When you apply a smart material (say wood grain) in Substance painter you find that the grain is all over the place. So you then have to find the shell that is rotated and then hope you have rotated it the right way. And I just spent 2 hours hand cutting a mesh only to find Coat crashing when I apply the UV set. Total waste of my time.

Carlosan
Hi If the model have UVs, at import you must use Keep UVs as Uv mapping type
Member Sqwert Posted February 16, 2022 Author Member Report Share Posted February 16, 2022 The mesh had no UV's, never had any problem in the last 3-4 years I suspect the crash was due to using the UV path finding tool. It seems using middle mouse button and clicking on the "ball" you move the vertex. I dont think behaviour is intended.
