Hi eveyone. I want to ask about sculpting process with flatten tool. For exampe I have such detail in my mesh and I want to fix it with flatten tool:

Firstly I tried to find Mask tool to isolate the detail. But there isn't such tool. I used Surface hide.
I made some pases with Fill and Flatten tools. Flatten tool made deepenings in closest to corner plases. It means the tool still consider hidden mesh:

Finally I unhided all and found out that hidden mesh deformed too, this method doesn't work as masking.

So my questions are: 1) how to mask mesh parts to freezing it in surface mode?
2) can Flatten tool or any another tool flatten surfase close to corners without creating unwanted holes?
Thanks.

I have solved 1st issue. It's necessary to use Flatten tool with "Ctrl" to fill holes when they appear.
But how to make a mask or freez in sutface mode?

For me the flatten tool is pretty useless.

Try the preset I posted here to get sharp planar surfaces .
