I just made a sword which is identical on both sides (on the Z Axis) nothing that is asymmetrical or anything an none of the UV's are stacked.

When, for example, I fill the blade with the color blue and have symmetry on the Z Axis enabled, it will mirror to the other side just fine.

But then I try to apply the same fill on another part (detailing on the inside of the blade), then this wont mirror at all.

Drawing with brushes with mirror enabled works just fine on all the Paint objects.

I'm confused why this is happening. I've copied the black and white UV island in photoshop so both have are exactly the same values

Problems exists on 2022.29 and 2022.34

Video was made in 2022.34

Issue persists in 2022.36 With and without Gradient mode

[EDIT] I just did a fresh UV unwrap in blender and used applink to create a completely new scene in 3dcoat. Problem is still there

Found it, model is separate as 2 meshes.

Look at this example with symmetry on X
If model have separate parts, symmetry doesnt work using fill tool
