Licensing question.

Hi.  I have a licensing question.

I have permanent license since about when v4 stopped being updated.  I also have a v4 license.

If my license "update time" expires in a year, are features supposed to become limited?  I understand updates are to stop until I pay again, but are certain features supposed to stop working as they should (like rendering, texturing watermark etc,)?  It is as if my trial has ended.

Thank you.    If this is the case, my version must be bugged.  Gonna have to talk to team next year if it happens again.
