UV tools, transparency

I have an object that I would like to unwrap, but it has some geometry which goes inside another bit of geometry. Is there a way to make an object transparent or semi transparent in order to select hidden edges and create seams? I could use the hide tool, but it's a little time consuming considering I just want to select an interior edge. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Unfortunately not. The hide tool is the only option. I have this on my list of feature requests, so I'll point Andrew here as well to show there is more then one person who supports transparency controls for retopo meshes. :)
