Member TH98 Posted November 16, 2010 Member Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 Hi guys! I just downloaded the demo and am gonna buy 3d Coat soon, but for now I'm just trying to learn the tools. I'm trying to follow the spider retopo tutorial, but I'm stuck on the first step already. I did the strokes as described in the video: But when I hit "Enter," instead of creating the polygons, it just disappeared: I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here, but I don't know what. What's going on?
Member TH98 Posted November 16, 2010 Author Member Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 Okay, I just got it to work. Turns out I had symmetry on, and I guess I was working on the "wrong" side of the symmetry plane. Sorry!
Member ekunzendorf Posted November 16, 2010 Member Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 Yeah, I ran into that too. You can also check the invert mirror checkbox, that will allow you to see the symmetry as you retopo. Excelsior! Eric Kunzendorf
Member Necroscope Posted October 19, 2011 Member Report Share Posted October 19, 2011 I have the same problem, even with symmetry turned off:

After drawing the orange lines you have to draw one line down the length of the arm that crosses over the orange ones. Then if you like you can adjust the number of polys that will wrap around with the "Number of Segments" option at the top of the screen. Then press Enter.
