Advanced Member paulrus Posted January 14, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 I would like to request an interface change. I would love it if the palettes would dock on the side like Macromedia (Adobe) does for Flash, Dreamweaver, etc. - or like Fusion 5 does. So theres a panel on the right that can collapse and open depending on what tool you want to use, but it never overlaps the grid. then you could collapse that entire panel to the right if you wanted to go full-screen. Right now there seems to be no standardization to the palettes - so their size is determined by the content. Creating a standard collapsible side panel would really help to clean things up. It also would keep them from covering up content and getting in the way.
Member MozzUK Posted January 14, 2008 Member Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 Agreed! This would be a useful addition.
Advanced Member wailingmonkey Posted January 14, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 I'd be happy with 'shelves' similar to Zbrush or Silo 2 that give you a choice of 'undocking' to the left, right, or both. This would still allow for the tools bar currently at the left to stay where it is (the left shelf would open 'behind' it, basically to the extreme left... If more along the Silo 2 style, the shelves would be adjustable in width according to each user's preference of UI (widescreen on my laptop allows for lots of room ). cheers. wailingmonkey
Andrew Shpagin
Yes, dockable panels are good. I will think how to do this. I think it will be not difficult.
