Member madafaka Posted January 6, 2011 Member Report Share Posted January 6, 2011 maybe i am missing something but after retopo of the obj file that is exported from max, and then exported fixed from 3d coat, i get triangles instead of quads so that renders my model unusable. is this normal behaviour? how to get the quads? Psmith
I'm not sure what process you are using and what you are trying to achieve. Please list these things along with a step by step description of the what you are doing to get there. Greg Smith
philnolan3d
I don't understand either. What do you mean by "fixed from 3D-Coat"?
Advanced Member michalis Posted January 7, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 7, 2011 Retopo the mesh and export (under retopo menu), or in retopo room again, seams/do UVs/bake it using MV or PPP and paint more. Then export (under the file menu). All these options export quads. In voxels room, under the vox tree (right click) you can export a tri mesh (decimated if you like) - from there only. If you still getting tris in max, then check the obj importer of max.
