Poser Import

Hello again,

I attempted to import a image from Poser into Voxel mode.

I increased the scale to a pretty high level to around 1.3M

The Imported OBJ file is around 17M

However each time I try to merge it the mid-section is missing as well as a few other body parts.

Can anyone tell me how to successfully merge Poser images into 3D coat?

Once again thanks!!

An image? You mean a model? make sure all of the object are water tight, meaning they have no holes in them. I don't know anything about poser but I'm guessing that's the problem.

Thanks for the post

I tryed Z-brush and Claytools each of which did not show this problem. I don't know if that helps understanding what I'm seeing.

I've imported into ClayTools, exported the same model into an OBJ file and was able to get the total model

I tryed to find something in Poser but nothing there.

If anyone else has an idea I would appreciate it.

Thanks again

Tony

Try "make mesh closed " on import

Thank you for the suggestion.

I tryed pressing the "make mesh closed " but saw not much of a difference.

When pressing it, there was no indication that anything happened, no change in highlight or check mark or anything that indicates that it is working.

I tryed it before scaling, after scaling before and after hitting apply. It seemed to work somewaht but there were still many gaps.

Any thing else??

Make mesh closed before applying. Watch cpu activity if unsure anything is happening ( ctrl alt del in Windows ).

I'd say the output method from Poser matters although you've tried other programs to load the doll.

You can check/uncheck several things when exporting from poser.

Thank you once agian for replying.

Sorry to say niether suggestion worked

Before hitting apply I tryed both suggestions

When pressing the mesh closed button I did not see the CPU do a whole lot. (I think it would be better if the button reversed highlighted indicating the command took)

Also when subdividing I could not see much happening. Once again there is no indicator that the function was completed.

There is a simular feature in ClayTools where you can check a "fill in gaps" box.

The file goes from 4M to 47M after that process is done.

So I imagine you are correct that it has to do with closing the mesh.

I will look at the poser side of this but I do not recall much as far when choosing options in exporting.

If you can think of anything else I would appreciate it.

For now I can import into ClayTools then export to 3D coat

Frankly I rather just use 3D coat since it is a much better program.

Many thanks again,

Tony

I remember having had problems with poser import, but those problems have dissolved in later versions of 3DCoat. Are you using the latest build?

Pardon my delay in responding.

Yes, it is actually the demo version.

If there is anything else I might try please let me know.
