Member richdj Posted May 28, 2011 Member Report Share Posted May 28, 2011 Is there a way of cloning an object X number of times in straight line? I can't see it in the manual... Rich

Member richdj Posted May 29, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 Hi Phil, Yes, I'm looking at Voxels. I'm after something like 'axial' but where it duplicates in a straight line and not in a circle. I can see there is instancer and also I could copy and paste. But i was wondering if there was anything more automated. Rich
philnolan3d
I can't think of any way you'd do it either but I'd imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to make that tool if you set up a feature request. It's like a rectangular array in LightWave, while the Axial tool is like a radial array.

Advanced Member ggaliens Posted June 1, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 1, 2011 There is a HIDDEN way of doing this ... Use ManifoldLab/Wings3D to export an overloaded Wavefront file (.OBJ) which contained INSTANCES by way of comments and matrices. 3DCoat honors this overloaded .OBJ file. ManifoldLab/Wings3d is a great way to rig up a scene full of things to import into VOX tree.

But I was hoping for something 3DC integrated.. Rich
