philnolan3d
This is really made for zbrush, but it looks like quite a bit of it applies to 3DC as well since it's really about anatomy, not so much the software you're using. http://www.zbrushworkshops.com/
Member Marcus Daw Posted June 18, 2011 Member Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 Thanks for sharing this. It looks like a great resource.
Advanced Member michalis Posted June 18, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 Thanks phil The third video is the more interesting. In general blah blah lot of it. What I like: these simple clean lines between parts What I don't like: these lines look different under other view angles. This is all about sculpting. These lines... make them as you like, they have little to do with anatomy, mostly have to do with our soul.
philnolan3d
To be honest I've only watched the first 10 minutes or so of the Flash video, but it looked good enough to share just from that.
Advanced Member T.H. ROCK Posted June 18, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 Much more pleasing to the eye than the "gray flesh" I saw and handled in university anatomy class. heh
Advanced Member michalis Posted June 18, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 It's a decent lesson. More decent than some others I have in mind. At least it's about real sculpting - art. BTW , I noted how many times he speaks about re-meshing in zb. 3DC users don't need this.
Member Marcus Daw Posted June 19, 2011 Member Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 I wish there were more high quality training resources for ZBrush. Most of the 3DC training seems very poorly executed.

You can see my tutorial in 3D World magazine #143 in stores now in the US.
Member Marcus Daw Posted June 21, 2011 Member Report Share Posted June 21, 2011 Looks awesome Phil. Now if we could only get some high quality tutorials on character sculpting. The ZBrush community has so many high quality tutorials on the subject, but I wish we could get a high quality one based on 3D Coat's workflow and strengths. philnolan3d
One thing to consider when making 3DC tutorials is that like it or not development is so fast that by the time your tutorial is published the program has changed. I believe Javis (geothefaust on the forum) actually did replace some of his official 3DC videos because the tools were different. Another example is LiveClay, it didn't exist at the time that I wrote for the magazine, but now it does and I may have included it had I know.
