      Hi!! I'm a new user and I need some help with 3D coat. When I want to switch over to photoshop, the logo for 3D coat shows up on the texture and I don't know how to fix it. Also, through 'Edit' the 'Edit All Layers in Ext. Editor' is grayed out. Is this an easy fix? I already reset everything and I reinstall as well, and this issue is still ongoing.

      Thank you for your quick response @Carlosan! Unbelievably, after an hour of trying this earlier, I went back to 3D-Coat to produce a screen-grab for you. Guess what? Without changing any settings (I believe), the Freeze Tool behaved as it's supposed to. Feels like my 3D-Coat is broken  -- Shift Studio

      On my test Freeze works at 100& on both stroke modes (Alt+F let to change visualization modes)

      With Square Lasso, Rectangle Lasso and Vertex Lasso, the Maximum Freeze I can get in the Paint Room is about 50%. I'm looking for 100% Freeze! I've tried the suggestions above and every combination I can think of in the e-panel and upper settings panel. Can anyone help? Thanks! -- Shift Studio.

      I tried exporting the OBJ from DAZ Studio and told it to "Collect maps" but it exported ONLY the Diffuse maps to the MTL file.  Quite aggravating.    I think I'll head over to their forums and see if someone can set me straight on how to properly export, I've using that program for 20 years but maybe I am missing a piece of info on how to export with ALL maps in tact in the MTL file.  I guess I'll find out.  LOL

      Yes. If you use, for example, the .obj mesh format, then it must have a companion .mtl file that contains links to textures. After importing .obj into 3dcoat, all associated textures will be loaded automatically.

      I think it may be helpful but right now I'm just adding things by hand which once saved I won't have to worry about that.  Right now I need a little more advice at understanding things in the import options.  I use the following maps Diffuse Normal Bump Specular Gloss. I see some of the options like Diffuse - Albedo and Normal but not sure what importer I would use to bring in the other three maps.  I have a screen shot attached so hopefully someone can steer me correctly in assigning these properly.  I'll just go in by hand and edit each layer as it comes in and is placed.  Like when I imported in the Head Normal it came in very generic, so I renamed that so I don't get mixed up (which isn't hard for me to do LOL )    Thanks so much Richard

      Yes, I know about that part but what I was asking is there a way to auto load ALL the maps for the entirety of the figure?  Like point at a folder or go to a folder and "select all" and have it assigned or at least each UDIM map like Torso and have all the needed maps assigned to that part (Diffuse, Bump, Normal, Gloss....) or do have to load each map one at a time?

      I enable the "Import Tiles as UV Sets" setting and everything loads correctly. What happened in your case?

      Has this always been the case or is something broken in the latest version? I saw the video but I don't quite understand the problem.

      I have a character that uses UDIM and I need a proper way to load up all maps for him (Diffuse, Normal, Bump, Specular and Gloss maps) and for all parts (Head, Arms, Legs and Torso) and then need some advice on how to make sure when I'm trying to heal up noticeable seams I have the correct settings turned on so all the update brush strokes to the maps are applied correctly.  Thanks so much Richard

      i think this was moved?? the original post was issues with surface detail , i used voxels to recreate the original mesh that was in the image , while doing so i added resolution to the mesh and the mesh became very blocky , carlosan said it was due to voxel mode and then a restart i recorded this footage of the voxels smoothing like normal     715808993_Desktop2025-04-2523-56-02.mp4.558bed91240518ac8b19ffe2196b0c3b.mp4

      I wanted to do that before too but the upgrade button will be inactive until they'll release the next stable version. At first I thought it was because I couldn't upgrade at a set time in the year (december was what I preferred) But the positive side of this is that they won't take our money and give nothing back, then it would've just been a maintenance license or something. It's less convenient than it could be, but it's still one of the best business models of 3D software if we're not counting blender They're getting the next stable version ready ASAP!
