  1. Nice. Did you ever finished this character? (Textures and lighting etc?) I always thought that Zbrush was based on Voxel sculpting as well. My bad haha. Zbrush is polygons..... millions of them. Peace, Rich_Art.
  2. Yeah Cinema4D has the same. If I have a copy of Cinema4D open on my PC and I want to open Cinema4D on my laptop is says that it can't run because there is already a copy running with the same license. I think this would be handy for 3DCoat as well indeed. Peace, Rich_Art.
  3. or maybe a driver problem. I buy the Nvidia 470. Should be ok for the time being. Peace, Rich_Art.
  4. I can't help because I just ordered 3Dcoat myself but I want to say that the "doodle" looks nice. Peace, Rich_Art.
  5. aha ok, that sounds not so cool. Lets hope they go on bug hunt asap. Peace, Rich_Art.
  6. Ok thanks. And what kind of problems? just freezing up or something? If it occasionally occurs, well then it should not be a big problem. This will be fixed in an upcoming bug release I may hope. Peace, Rich_Art.
  7. How does the CUDA behave with the latest release of 3DCoat? I read in earlier posts that the CUDA is a bit buggy at the moment. I'm planning to buy the Nvidia Asus ENGTX470. (I can't afford the bigger 480 brother) So if the CUDA is not very stable, I better should concentrate on a cheaper GFX card and save some more money for a new MoBo, proc and Ram. Peace, Rich_Art.
  8. Thanks again for the info. Much appreciated. I will dive deep into this. As said, for my main application Cinema4D, my current system will do. I buy a new GFX card (a Nvidia with cuda support) And for the rest I'll start saving some money to upgrade my system with a new mobo, proc and plenty of ram. Until then I'm able to play with 3Dcoat and learn all the ins and outs. It will be hard I think because I use C4D for more then 8 years now. It will take some time to get used to a new interface and tools. Yesterday I installed a fresh copy of win7 64bits on my PC (my laptop did not liked 3Dcoat) and installed 3Dcoat. With my current system it worked surprising very well. Ok I think with a higher SubD and a larger object It won't be as smooth as now but for learning the application and tools it is more than ok for me. Peace, Rich_Art.
  9. Nice looking character. Thumbs up. Peace, Rich_Art.
  10. Looks cool indeed. Peace, Rich_Art.
  11. Thanks AbnRanger..Nice to see members helping. I have Win7 64bits so I can go up to 8GB with my Mobo. (After I update the bios) Next thing, after I bought a new GFX card, is to replace the ram with 4X2 GB instead of the 4X1 I have now. (or save some mony for a complete new mobo and proc and ram) Peace, Rich_Art.
  12. Welcome. After seeing your drawings, I only can say, you gonna make some great characters in 3DCoat. Cool drawings........ Peace, Rich_Art.
  13. So I be better off with a quad core and more ram than that I would buy a Nvidia 470 on my "old" dual core.. Mmmm why is it always so difficult to make the proper decision. (by the way, my Mobo can handle up to 8GB. it is DDR2 and the mobo is an Asus M2N SLI De Luxe.) Ok I'll rethink what I will buy. Thanks for the help. Peace, Rich_Art.
  14. Yeah that is what I'm afraid of. I belief my mobo can't handle more than 4gb. I need to check this. Thanks. Peace, Rich_Art. EDIT: My mobo is an Asus and has indeed PCI-E. It is not that old. (3 or 4 years)
  15. Hi All, Now that I decided to buy 3D-Coat, I need a new VideoCard. I have not the most up to date system at the moment. Just an AMD Dualcore with 4GB mem and a Geforce 7900GTX. For my workflow with Cinema4D this system is sufficient. Could be faster of course but I'm in no hurry as it is all Hobby for me. My question is as follows, Is the difference between a Nvida 470 and an Ati 5770 really big in performance on 3DCoat? The price of an Ati is much more likable for me. Or is my system to old to put in a GFX card like the Nvida 470. It would be a waste of money if I buy a new GFX card like the Nvidia and my system is to old to make a difference. I then better could buy a cheaper card like the Ati 5770 which handles very well in my main application Cinema4D. I hope some 3DCoat expert users can help me with this question. Thanks. Peace, Rich_Art.
  16. Hey cool to see you here as well. I'm hoping to start any time soon with 3DCoat. Thanks for the welcome. Peace, Rich_Art.
  17. Thanks Greg. I hope to show some work any time soon. First I need to update my PC with Win7. A new videocard and install 3DCoat. Peace, Rich_Art.
  18. Thanks.. I really hope I do. I do like character creation. 3Dcoat will help hopefully. Peace, Rich_Art.
  19. Hi All, I just want to introduce myself here on the forum. I'm Rich_Art I mainly use Cinema4D but I really like to Clay in 3D. This is why I will buy me a copy of 3DCoat. My friend Pavel Zoch pointed me to 3DCoat. The price drop till October the 16th is a good thing to get me started with 3DCoat. I don't have a high end computer, still a dual core with 4GB and a ATI 5770 GFX card. I hope this is still ok for 3DCoat. Peace, Rich_Art.
