Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted September 20, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) We've mentioned some free options before, but I stumbled across this video (of a segment from the cable TV show, Tekzilla) that goes over some additional options that are very noteworthy. Did not know the free VLC media player has a screen recording option built in, as well as QuickTimeX. So, there is really no excuse not to use the freely available options to screen record issues you are having, and add links to them when posting question about them. Same thing goes for reporting bugs on Mantis. It really helps Andrew (or anyone here) see what is going on, and get to the source much more quickly. Recording a screen capture may take a little more of your time, but it will help you get a solution much sooner than otherwise. Please use these tools and/or the ALT + SHIFT + S keyboard shortcut to take a snapshot of your UI, in 3D Coat. Otherwise those of us, who would like to help, are flying blind, so to speak. Also, some free screen recording apps like JING, have their own free video hosting sites (screencast.com), for you to quickly upload your video to. But if you use something else, and they don't have such a hosting option, then obviously you could upload to youtube or vimeo. However, if you do upload video bug reports on there, please change the listing from public to private or unlisted, so that they are not available for the general public...only those who have the specific link. http://youtu.be/9hf0Xb4Utv8 Edited September 20, 2013 by AbnRanger
Carlosan
Screen recording can be found on latest versions All capture possibilities (including the time-lapse) gathered into the “Capture” menu. Record Timelapse: timelapse recording tool takes a screenshot of your work at a specified interval by smoothly moving the camera and then converting it to video. Recording a timelapse of the process of working on a model without an interface. That allows you to record the process of sculpting by speed up of a hundred times and smooth camera movement, which is a pleasure to look at.
