Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted November 11, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted November 11, 2013 Some helpful tools I just stumbled onto, for current 3ds Max users trying to make the transition from the Dark Side (Autodesk) to Blender. http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?306867-BMax-Tools-or-how-I-left-3ds-Max-%
Advanced Member michalis Posted November 11, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 11, 2013 the Ui of these tools is very nice, though I was never a 3dmax user. About the dark side, I'm not sure… "Between Scylla and Charybdis" is more appropriate, However, to see blender as the alternative freeware of another application is OK To ask from blender developers to grab all the ideas around and bring them to blender, is another matter. Any fresh ideas in blender? Any innovations? There are a few. By example see the node based Cycles UI. (it doesn't look like other node systems, it reflects the coding of cycles) You know Abn, every day in the BA forum, I have to fight those who ask for a free z brush. All the set of the z-sculpting brushes. Blender has a simple and effective set of brushes, I even tried to copy one of them in zbrush (not much success). I also tried to "copy" some behavior in 3dcoat (no success either).
Contributor BeatKitano Posted November 11, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted November 11, 2013 Blender's brush set is good, nothing to change imo, they just need to amp the engine to support more polygons during sculpt, other than that it's very nice.
