Advanced Member vivi Posted December 22, 2014 Advanced Member Share Posted December 22, 2014 is it just me or is there always a default amount of specularity on that new preview system. even though i turn of my specular layers and apply a black color, it reflects... Advanced Member vivi Posted December 22, 2014 Author Advanced Member Share Posted December 22, 2014 oh i see we have to actually apply metalness of 100% to get a 100% matte look...this is odd and should not
Advanced Member Mighty Pea Posted December 23, 2014 Advanced Member Share Posted December 23, 2014 PBR will always have some reflectivity, as it would be in reality. At the lowest gloss/highest roughness that'll only be at grazing angles, unless there's a flaw in the 3DC beta. If you're looking for the old behaviour, I'm not quite sure how you'd go about returning to that (and I do hope it's possible!)
Advanced Member Ratchet Posted December 26, 2014 Advanced Member Share Posted December 26, 2014 is it just me or is there always a default amount of specularity on that new preview system About preview are you talking about the fill tool preview or new PBR system in general ? You can try these settings : No specular : Gloss = 0, Metalness = 0 Some specular : Gloss = 0, Metalness = 50 Reflective surface : Gloss = 50, Metalness = 0-100 In fact compared ot the old system , you just replace specular by metalness keeping Gloss on ver low values if you don't want reflection
