Floating E-panel (brush operations) ?

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

New to 3D coat - curious if I can have the brush tab/flyout torn off and just floating/positioned in my viewport.

I'm constantly selecting brushes, and turning backface masking on and off - would be cool to just have that whole tab visible at all times and placed where I want.

Is it possible?

Thanks.

oops - I think I misidentified the feature - on the left hand side, at the top of the tools palette, is the "Stroke Mode" flyout menu. That's the one I was referring to. Not the brushes. Although I didn't the hotkey for brushes, so thanks for that :)

So yeah, if I could have the "Stroke Mode" menu detached and floating, that would be cool.....

What fattkid is asking, is whether or not the E-panel (brush operations) can be a pop-up window that remains on screen at all times. Which would be pretty handy actually, I can't count the number of times I've pressed E to bring up the e-panel and then accidentally moved my mouse off of it - thus automatically closing the pop-up.

To my knowledge, this is not a dockable window.

Yeah, just like Gary Dave said -

Even though the hotkey is helpful, a floater would be better/helpful. Better because when you select something in the window, it closes - but if you want to access a particular brush, and turn on or off back face masking, you have to open the window twice - which is inefficient and tedious.

Or at least make it so the window stays open until your brush moves off of it, so you can make multiple selections/choices etc. at once, instead of constantly reopening the window.

Thanks Carlosan.

The workflow for that is to make custom Brush presets

and recall it with space bar menu or shortkeys

3DC preferences let you to select 2 options:

- to use a general brush operation for every tool

- to remember brush operation for every tool
