Member fattkid Posted April 30, 2015 Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2015 Hey folks, New to 3D coat - curious if I can have the brush tab/flyout torn off and just floating/positioned in my viewport. I'm constantly selecting brushes, and turning backface masking on and off - would be cool to just have that whole tab visible at all times and placed where I want. Is it possible? Thanks. -Trevor
Carlosan
Hi T key is used to show on/off It helps ?
Member fattkid Posted April 30, 2015 Author Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2015 oops - I think I misidentified the feature - on the left hand side, at the top of the tools palette, is the "Stroke Mode" flyout menu. That's the one I was referring to. Not the brushes. Although I didn't the hotkey for brushes, so thanks for that So yeah, if I could have the "Stroke Mode" menu detached and floating, that would be cool..... Member fattkid Posted April 30, 2015 Author Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2015 ok thanks - that's a step in the right direction. But can the menu float......? And now that I think about it, is it possible to create custom menus/layouts?
Carlosan
Tabbed_Popup_Windows All the menu operations are performed using the windows commands Quick panel -as example- can be float Recall Tools pressing spacebar You can customize Page Layout by Room Or Customize the overall workspace all windows are dockable Hope this help ---------------------------------------------- Modo UI theme 3DC Workspace Layout Share
Advanced Member Gary Dave Posted April 30, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2015 What fattkid is asking, is whether or not the E-panel (brush operations) can be a pop-up window that remains on screen at all times. Which would be pretty handy actually, I can't count the number of times I've pressed E to bring up the e-panel and then accidentally moved my mouse off of it - thus automatically closing the pop-up. To my knowledge, this is not a dockable window.

Member fattkid Posted April 30, 2015 Author Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2015 Yeah, just like Gary Dave said - Even though the hotkey is helpful, a floater would be better/helpful. Better because when you select something in the window, it closes - but if you want to access a particular brush, and turn on or off back face masking, you have to open the window twice - which is inefficient and tedious. Or at least make it so the window stays open until your brush moves off of it, so you can make multiple selections/choices etc. at once, instead of constantly reopening the window. Thanks Carlosan.
Carlosan
The workflow for that is to make custom Brush presets and recall it with space bar menu or shortkeys 3DC preferences let you to select 2 options: - to use a general brush operation for every tool - to remember brush operation for every tool
