Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted June 24, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted June 24, 2015 Greetings to all , i am working on a project , commercial one , i painted one 3d model , client approved , now client needs another 10 3d models on the same look!!!!!! Sub Painter can do this through smart materials and ids. Is there a way doing this with 3dc or am i scr@wed????
Javis
Hey! Are the UVs the same? If so, slap the texture on them. Can you tweak the existing model to make them something else and keep the BUs and textures? If that's not an option can you tweak the UVs to match your fist model? Or just bake the textures from one model to another. The bigger issue is if the models are of similar size and shape, with this method. Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted June 24, 2015 Author Contributor Report Share Posted June 24, 2015 Much appreciated for the help Javis , unfortunately models are in difference shape , imagine a helmet a knife and a gun....
Javis
Ahh, gotcha. I think then presets for your materials are the way to go, if they want the same or similar. 3DC should definitely be a boon in this case. If you're constrained on time, I would use some auto unwrapping for UVs. Might help a bit. Better get crackin'! Sounds like you have a good bit of work ahead.
